My work involves film, video, and performance, with an interactive component in topical installations. Coming from an Asian culture, but also having spent several years in the United States, my art attempts to explore this distinction between Eastern and Western philosophical thinking.

My works are meditation on the solitude state of mind while contemplating the western thinking of being expressive. I attempt to distort specific ideas radically for emotional effect in order to evoke certain moods from the audience. I am interested in questions of identity and the way people define themselves through tensions; between distinct cultures (both those they belong to and those they do not), between personal expression and interpretation; and between individuality and existence within a social framework. I am also in great favor of showing the materiality of the medium: the plasticity of the celluloid and the flexibility of video projection.

My recent works embrace the interactive components by the help of computational media in order to encourage the subjective viewing from the audience through physical participation.
